Applying for an apprenticeship

To be eligible for an Apprenticeship you must be over the age of 16, not in full-time education, working in England to find an employer who will employ you for a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Already employed

If you know which apprenticeship you’d like to apply, you have found an employer and they have agreed to your enrolment, you can apply online here.

Once, we have received your application, we will contact you to arrange the next stage of the process, which will be your on-boarding process. This will include filling out our application form and attending an assessment centre to complete Maths and English initial assessments.

Ready and looking for work, no employer?

Truth is – it can sometimes be difficult to find an apprenticeship and you must keep looking and applying. Unfortunately, we can’t do this for you as it is going to be your real job/career. However, we can show you how to access the Find an apprenticeship (findapprenticeship.service.gov.uk) so that you can apply for jobs that suit you.

We also advise that you search for companies in your area and send out your CV, follow this up with a phone call and even gain work experience through volunteering.

Remember, with apprenticeships it’s a good idea to apply for more than one apprenticeship vacancy at one time. Try and get several applications to potential employers: that way you’re increasing your options and not waiting for a response from just one employer.

Additional Information and Guidance

To help you understand more about Apprenticeships check out the Amazing Apprenticeships, Apprenticeship Benefits and Help for Parents, Guardians, Carers or Teachers websites which are full of useful information for you.

If you are unsure about anything you can come and have a chat to us at one of our Further Education Course Open Days.

If you are unable to find employment a full-time course is a good alternative, but do keep looking for an apprenticeship work placement.
