Meet The Staff
Caroline Booth
BHSI (Reg'd), ITEC, HHIT, NVQ4, CertEd, Master Reiki Healer/Teacher, Animal Communicator
Programme Leader of the Equine Unit, Caroline has a wide range of practical experience within the equine industry throughout Europe, including competition, yards, stud work, racing, hunting, and showing. She has successfully coached/trained and competed at all levels of Dressage, and successfully competed in show jumping, horse trials and showing, including side saddle.
A BHS trainer and examiner, NVQ Assessor and Internal Verifier, side saddle instructor, she also judges a variety of competition disciplines, dressage and show classes. Caroline specialises in training competition and career students, including degree level and BHS I. She is also a holistic therapist for both human and equine, specialising in Reiki Healing and Animal Communication; other therapies include massage, aromatherapy, Bowen and Shiatsu.

Dawn Joyce, BHSII and SM, CertEd
NVQ Course Manager
A registered instructor holding both the British Horse Society's Intermediate Instructors Exam and the Stable Managers Certificate, Dawn has worked with us since 1996. As well as teaching on a range of courses from Foundation to HE, Dawn organises our regular Affiliated Dressage Competitions. She gained her previous experience on a large training yard and has competed herself in Affiliated Dressage and Horse Trials.

Emma Woolley, BSc(Hons), PGCE, BHS Int.SM
Course Manager - FC/FD
After graduating from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth with an Honours Degree in Equine Science, Emma spent time out in industry working with a variety of competition horses. Following this, Emma went to Brooksby Melton College in Leicestershire before returning to Cheshire to join the team at Reaseheath in Oct 2002. Emma has two horses of her own, and has competed in a variety of disciplines.

Claire Huyton, HND, CertEd, TechSP
Course Manager - ND2
Claire joined the Equine team in September 2004 and has a HND in Equine Studies and is BHS qualified with many years experience working in the industry. In her spare time, Claire trains and competes her own horses. Claire is responsible for delivery of modules at Croft End Equestrian Centre.

Christine Booth, BA, PGCE, LCG, ITEC, BHSA I(Reg'd)
Course Manager - ND1
Christine is an instructor and judge for the Side Saddle Association, a BHS Riding and Road Safety examiner and trainer, an NVQ Assessor and has a HNC in Equine Athletic Development. She is a qualified human and equine sports massage therapist, equine muscle release therapist and animal essential oil therapist. She is also qualified in Shiatsu for horse and is a TTouch practitioner. Christine has competed to advanced medium in affiliated dressage and judges at dressage and Riding Club competitions.

Kim Bailey
Yard Manager
Kim Bailey has recently been appointed to the position of Yard Manager at the Equine Unit and joins us after having spent five years with the Greater Manchester Police where one of her main tasks was ensuring that the Mounted Division’s horses were fit, sound and properly trained to undertake their job, together with being responsible for 24 grooms and trainers.
Kim is an experienced freelance Instructor and is an Association of Chief Police Officers Accredited Instructor and NVQ Assessor. She owns her own horse and has competed successfully at Show Jumping and Dressage events.
Kim brings a wealth of experience in the equine field. Of her new role she says she is looking forward to working alongside such a positive and experienced team of staff. In addition, to being involved in the development works currently taking place to upgrade the Unit’s facilities which will provide students with the very best in equestrian standards in a potentially world class venue.
Kim is the main point of contact in relation to horse welfare issues.

Leanne Newall
Assistant Yard Manager
Leanne has years of experience working within the equine industry working both in the UK and in America on a variety of yards including competition yards, riding schools, livery etc.
Leanne trains students up to AI level and is a keen competition rider herself and has competed regularly at our own dressage competitions.
Liz Lyonette
BHS Intermediate Instructor
Liz has been with us since Spring 2006 and is our Chief Instructor. Liz has a yard of her own where she has bred from her own sports horses and competes in British Evening. (Currently on maternity leave)
Lisa Brewitt
Yard/Student Supervisor
Lisa is a former student of Reaseheath and owns two of her own horses which she regularly competes in show jumping and dressage events. Lisa also spends her weekends teaching horse riding.
Kate Hayward MSC
HNC/FdSc Course Manager
Kate is our HE Equine Course Manager. She has two of her own horses, one of which she competes at Show Jumping. Before joining us, Kate spent 12 months in Edinburgh working as a Grass Sickness Nurse and then went to Aberystwyth to complete her master in Equine Science.

Dr Jan Birch
Jan joined the Equine HE team in August 2008 from Leahurst Equine Research Hospital. Jan has extensive experience of lecturing and research in the field of Veterinary Physiology.

Ginny Taylor
Events Coordinator
Ginny joined the team in 2002 and has previously been a working pupil for Janet Plant (Examiner). Before coming to Reaseheath, Ginny worked on a hunting and showing yard, and has had a horse at home for several years.
