Reaseheath College is the leading landbased College in the UK. Based in Cheshire the College has an enviable setting amongst 500 acres of farms, parklands, lake, woodland and sports facilities, including our own golf course, you can't help feeling at home at Reaseheath.

In September 2008 unprecedented demand for Reaseheath courses have followed an accolade packed year which included confirmation from Ofsted inspectors that the college continues to achieve its ‘Outstanding’ status, that was awarded in November 2006, and that its high retention, achievement and success rates places it in the top ten of all colleges in England.
Reaseheath was awarded prestigious Beacon status in recognition of its ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted inspection and the excellent success rates of its students. It is also one of the first 12 colleges in the country to hold the new Training Quality Standard in recognition of its excellent partnerships with industry.
Reaseheath’s success and growth is being supported by an ambitious £51 million capital investment across college ensuring that students and staff enjoy world class specialist technical and educational facilities.
Nine new buildings have been opened in the past 12 months, including a learning resource centre, state-of-the-art IT centre, a cutting edge animal management teaching centre, a purpose built construction trades workshop, a new halls of residence and a dedicated Engineering Skills Academy, which is delivering a new diploma in engineering to local secondary school pupils, a new £2.3 million upgrade of equine facilities, including an indoor riding arena and round pen for natural horsemanship, coinciding with the launch of a new Foundation Degree in Equine Science, Complementary Therapy and Natural Horsemanship.

Reaseheath is also investing in the future of agriculture with an extensive £2.5 million upgrade of its farm. The investment will answer demands for next generation education and commercial training, and heightened animal welfare standards. The college has a record 300 agriculture students registered on full and part-time courses.

Central to the farm renovation is a state-of-the-art, 32 place, rapid exit milking parlour for the onsite Genus MOET dairy herd. The replacement parlour allows for an expansion in the milking herd from 170 to 250 and will provide industry standard practical teaching facilities. College visitors will be able to watch students milking from a viewing gallery and access computerised information while the cows are in the parlour.
New cow and calf housing is being provided and the college’s commercial pig and sheep units are also benefiting from the farm upgrade.
Building on an international reputation for quality training within the food and drink manufacture sector, Reaseheath’s food technology department has recently been made Network Champion for Dairy within the National Skills Academy for Food and Drink. This prestigious accolade recognises the department as leader and co-ordinator of the academy’s specialised dairy training nationwide.

Ensuring that facilities reflect the best in the industry, over £500,000 has been invested in Reaseheath’s food processing plant and licensed dairy factory. College facilities and expertise are used by many blue chip multi-national companies for new product development projects.
Elsewhere on the campus new facilities for the adventure sports, countryside, horticulture and sports turf departments are also to be built.

Apart from a busy academic life, Reaseheath students enjoy an action packed social scene including discos, social evenings and a wide range of sports. Staff and students have a well deserved reputation for their generosity and in the last academic year a record £10,000-plus for the local Abi Davey appeal was raised, plus a further £3,000 for St Luke’s Hospice. The latter sum was raised through a charity ball run by National Diploma in Events Management students.
Nearly 770 students students graduated in June 2008, with five receiving special awards.
Foundation Degree in Adventure Sports Management student Kara Heritage-Smith received recognition for making the best contribution to college life, mainly for her key role in ensuring the massive success of the college social calendar.
National Certificate in Animal Management student Hayley Juniper was singled out for her drive and enthusiasm in representing the college as a student ambassador, for her work as a student representative on the college board of governors and for her leading role in charity fund-raising. Hayley is taking a year off from her studies to take up a new, full time position of Student President, aimed at strengthening dialogue between Reaseheath’s students, staff and governors.

Bahamas resident Michael Lever was recognised for his personal qualities. Described as a very special young man who at just 18 was very mature and able to make friends easily, Michael was studying for his First Diploma in Adventure Sport.
Selected as the student who contributed most to sporting activities, former player for Wrexham Ladies’ Football Team Rachel Jones was honoured for the work she had put into creating, supporting and training Reaseheath’s ladies’ footballers which had included getting access to the indoor training facilities of the Crewe Alexandra football academy.
The Beacon Trophy, celebrating excellence, went to Kate Nicholas and her border collie Gin, who became household names as finalists in the tv series “Britain’s Got Talent”. Described as “the best act of its kind in the world” by judge Simon Cowell, Kate and Gin went on to complete an 18 city UK tour.
