Student Profile
Matt Howell

Ambition: Service engineer

School: Mountain Creek High School, Australia

Age: 18

Widely travelled, Matt was educated ‘down under’ and may return to Australia once he’s qualified, to work in the thriving mining industry.

Interested in big machinery, he’s gained a good understanding of engineering basics on our Level 2 course and has progressing onto our well recognised Level 3 qualification

Although he was born in Crewe, Matt moved to New Zealand for nine years and then to Australia for two years with his father’s job. When the family returned in 2013 he immediately applied to Reaseheath and has really enjoyed learning in the classroom, then practising in the workshop.

He’s visited centres of engineering excellence in Germany and Holland on our annual study tour and also had work experience at an agricultural services company. He must have made an impression, as he’s been asked to return for his Level 3 work placement

Matt says: “It’s good to have an engineering qualification. Reaseheath was a really good choice of college. The course is really interesting and I like the way you’re treated more like an adult.”
