Student Profile
Josh Brandon

Ambition: Architect

School: Middlewich High School

Age: 16

Although Josh is aiming high he’s chosen to start at the bottom so he gets a thorough understanding of the construction trade.

Keen to become an architect, Josh is one of a number of our students who follow a practical route into the career. This year he’s progressed onto our Level 2 Diploma in Brickwork and plans to complete his Level 3 Diploma before hopefully starting his university studies.

Josh had already tried out brickwork and joinery with us as part of our Key Stage 4 programme for local schools and came here after his GCSEs..

He’s enjoyed being a full-time student, particularly learning how to use hand tools correctly and gaining basic bricklaying skills.  He’s also learned a lot about the industry in general, knowledge which he says will be useful for the future.

Looking forward to learning the more complicated brickwork required for gable ends and archways, Josh says: “I get really good feedback from my lecturers and I always feel I can get help if I need it. I enjoy being at Reaseheath, everyone is very friendly and the campus has lots of space so you can enjoy your break time.”
