This course is a great starting point if you’re interested in horticulture or its many associated industries.

You’ll be introduced to a range of horticultural careers including grounds maintenance, nursery stock production and retail. When you’ve gained your qualification, you’ll be in a great position to get a job or continue learning.

Theory sessions are balanced with plenty of practical experience working across our campus grounds and on off -site projects.

How much will this course cost?

If you are under 19 on 31st August 2018 the tuition fees and exam costs are free for our courses. If you are aged 19 or over you may have to pay a fee.

You may also be required to pay costs associated with study tours or additional qualifications.

Ambition: Organic vegetable and flower grower

School: Haywood High School, Stoke-on-Trent

Age: 18

Jess helps her father to grow vegetables and flowers on the family allotment and plans to help him expand the enterprise into a commercial business.

Keen on self-sufficiency and on working with the land, Jess has gained business skills as well as lots of practical experience during her time at college.

Thanks to her new skills and knowledge, she has now gained a job in the industry and will continue to gain experience so she can become self-employed in the future.
