Nicholas Beuken and Michel Bartlam have been crowned Reaseheath College Maths and English department’s stars of the term. Both Nicholas and Michael were nominated for demonstrating excellent effort in English and maintaining 100% attendance.

Nicholas who’s studying on our Level 1 Land Based Diploma in Animal Care  course won an iPad and Level 1 Bricklaying student Michael was awarded a £50 Amazon voucher. The pair were presented with their prizes by our Principal Meredydd David in front of an audience of proud English and Maths tutors and their course managers on Wednesday.

Every term one student from each Maths and English group are nominated as their ‘star’ – one student for English and another for maths. Students are nominated for a range of positive attributes including excellent attendance, good attitude, exemplary commitment and effort to learn. All nominated students are then placed into a prize draw, with the chance to win an iPad or Amazon voucher. The star of the term initiative was introduced to students at the beginning of this academic year, September 2016 in order to celebrate the achievements of students like Nicholas and Michael.

Nicholas said: “I feel shocked and very proud to be picked as a star of the term. I really enjoy English and always work hard to do my best in lessons.”

“I’m starting a work placement at Walton Hall Garden’s mini zoo next week, so I’m excited to use my brand new iPad to take lots of photos of all my experiences.”

Michael added: “I’m really pleased to be recognised for my efforts in my English. It’s given me a real confidence boost.”
