  • 2 hour session, 10am – 12pm

Bring along your little Nature Detective to have fun and explore nature with us at Wildlife Club. We encourage all children to get outdoors, and learning can be so much fun here at the Zoo and in the College grounds. Find out about the Wildlife in your back garden, and what you can do to help it; and whether we make a Butterfly feeder or Bee hide- you can take it home with you at the end of the session!

Each Wildlife Club is themed for the season, and we perform wildlife activities to match.

Whether it’s looking for signs or Autumn; or making a perfume from the signs of Spring- there’s so much for young children to be involved in; and you can take it all home too!

What’s it all about?

  • A combination of practical activities, both indoors and outdoors, both in the zoo and around the college campus
  • Sessions are based in our outdoor education classroom- in the heart of the zoo
  • Taught by our qualified teachers, and experienced zoo staff to help and record wildlife at home
  • Get closer to nature, and enjoy the British countryside and wildlife, and the stunning variety in Cheshire
  • Have fun, while learning about the animals in your back garden. And what YOU can do to see them!

Club tasks include (age dependent):

  • Making bird feeders
  • Performing hedgerow surveys
  • Butterfly and caterpillar counts
  • Pond dipping
  • Understanding animal tracks and signs
  • Seasonal outdoor nature activities. October = Autumn, January = Winter
