Reaseheath’s Equestrian Centre offers world class education and training which meets the increasing requirements of employers in the equine industry. Our equine centre has recently benefited from a £2.3 million upgrade, providing an international sized indoor riding arena, modern American barn stabling, a round pen for natural horsemanship and an equine solarium.
We also have two all weather outdoor arenas and all the other facilities you would expect from a first class establishment. We have around sixty horses catering for all levels of riders, including top level schoolmasters, and are constantly looking to add to our team of super stars. We support our more advanced riders through specialised clinics with visiting instructors – some of the extra advantages offered through the Reaseheath Riding Club.
If you become a Reaseheath equine student, you will be taught by an experienced and varied team of highly qualified, professional staff who know what will be expected of you when you leave college and enter the industry.
Our Equestrian Centre has fantastic industry links. For instance, we provide the arena party for the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) and the Bolesworth Showjumping Classic and we are also involved with other large scale equestrian events.
You will get the opportunity to take part in a range of study tours to Ireland, and to visit Olympia and Hickstead.
Our Equestrian Centre also puts on demonstrations from leading equestrians. In 2012, we held a showjumping masterclass with 2012 team gold medallist Ben Maher and Olympic course designer Bob Ellis also visited us to build a course for the Reaseheath students.
You can progress from your course into a variety of roles both in higher education and employment within the industry. You could get a job as an international groom or in yard management, stud work or showing.
All Reaseheath equine students go on work experience as well as developing essential skills at Reaseheath’s Equestrian Centre. As our equine centre is a busy and professional yard, you are given realistic experience in a safe and supportive environment.
Our courses are designed to develop your skills to the highest standards and you will be guided by our diverse and experienced team. You will be well prepared if you want to progress into higher education, as you will already have a good grounding in the theory and application of science and a sound understanding of the industry and business sectors.
Our equine degree level courses have been developed to meet a demand for well qualified graduates who have both academic and practical skills. We provide full-time study as well as more flexible arrangements for people who are already employed in the equine industry, allowing you to combine work commitments with further professional development. Students can also gain valuable experience by watching the different veterinary techniques carried out by the specialised equine team from the Nantwich Veterinary Group. These can include radiographic procedures, endoscopy and arthroscopy and full lameness examinations. Students are also encouraged to become involved in horse rehabilitation.
