Academy of Animal, Equine and Veterinary Nursing

If you’re aspiring to have a career working with animals, you will more than likely enjoy a course or apprenticeship in our Academy of Animal, Equine and Veterinary Nursing.

We have a wide range of animals on our rural campus, housed in our commercial farm, equestrian centre, licensed zoo and on-site kennels. We have a purpose-built animal centre and veterinary training centre depending on which course within the academy you choose.

By studying Animal Management, you will be working hands-on with over 1,000 animals in our zoo and canine facilities, which are among the best in the UK. The animal management sector offers an incredibly broad spectrum of careers but all aim to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of pets, working animals, livestock and wildlife. Job satisfaction is virtually guaranteed!

If you are specifically passionate about improving animal’s health and welfare, it’s well worth considering a career in Veterinary Nursing. You’ll complete on- the-job training and work in our newly developed veterinary nursing facilities.

By studying Equine, your focus will be on developing your theoretical and practical skill set with horses and understanding the different options within the sector. You’ll have the opportunity to gain lifetime memories and experiences at world class events such as Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) and the British Dressage National Championships. You will have access to our excellent facilities and resources at our equestrian centre, including our range of high quality horses, indoor and outdoor arenas with competition grade surfaces, our riding simulator and much more! You’ll also enjoy a variety of study tours during your studies and we have great industry links — our equine courses are endorsed by industry professionals through our industry mentor scheme.
