Entry Level 3 Skills for Life and Work

The Entry programme has been designed to support young people to develop their employability and life skills in preparation for adulthood within our inclusive and supportive college community.

These core skills will be developed through bespoke life and employability preparation sessions in both theory and practical settings. Students will also have access to a wide range of experiences in our unique land-based activities programme covering everything from animal care to horticulture. This will provide each student with a variety of vocational, life and employability skills, helping them to prepare for adulthood and working life.

Skills you will have the opportunity to develop may include:

  • Team working, problem solving and communication
  • Enterprise project
  • Promoting independence, making choices and decisions
  • Ready to work – time keeping, attendance, self-management
  • Citizenship – contributing to society via work experience and charity involvement. Making use of community services
  • Health and well-being (healthy eating, personal hygiene and presentation)
  • Money management and budgeting
  • Working and being safe in daily living (around college/at home within community)
  • Personal relationships and friendships
  • Sport and leisure

How long will it take?

  • You study programme will be for the full academic year and your days of study will be for 4 full days pr week
  • The Entry 3 certificate is a 1 year programme

What qualifications do I need to start?

  • You do not need exam passes to start but you do need to be at entry level 2 in literacy and numeracy
  • You will have at least one interview and an assessment of your literacy and numeracy and support needs before you are offered a place

What qualifications will I gain?

Course options after this programme

  • You may progress to an Entry 3 Skills for Life and Work diploma or Level 1 Vocational Programme/Level 1 Career Development course but will need to reapply and acceptance will be depending on needs, ability and progress
