Our Academy of Food and Rural Business offers courses in Bakery, Pâtisserie and Confectionery, Food Technology and Business and Events Management.
Our commercial food centre is regarded to be among the best of any college in Europe, so training with us is as close to being in industry as you will get. We’re the only educational institution in the UK to be awarded British Retail Consortium Grade AA.
By studying Bakery, Pâtisserie and Confectionery, you will have access to facilities that are the same as in the industry, including our breadmaking room, pâtisserie area, chocolate room, cake decorating room and industrial sized ovens. If you’re serious about a career within the pâtisserie or bakery sector, our bakery courses will equip you with all the skills and knowledge needed to progress into a successful career in the industry.
If you choose to study Food Technology, you’ll be able to spend time working hands-on in our commercial dairy processing halls, dedicated butchery and new product development areas. By studying Food Technology, you’ll be part of an exciting industry which is dynamic, fast paced and constantly changing to meet consumer demands.
Or, if you’d prefer to work in Business and Events Management, you’ll be given the opportunity to develop your marketing, financial and human resource skills, learn how to spot a winning business opportunity and understand the needs of your consumer. Within this course you’ll gain a real insight into the industry thanks to our links with leading business professionals.
