Ofsted Outstanding Care Standards
Our ‘Outstanding’ Care Standards Ofsted inspection (September 2017) confirms that we continue to provide first rate standards of care which help and protect our students and prepare them for safe and happy futures. We were commended for providing the very best experiences which significantly improve our students’ potential.
Key findings include:
- Reaseheath provides remarkable experiences and opportunities for students, allowing them to make excellent social and academic progress
- Students are supported and encouraged to believe they can achieve their goals
- Outstanding staff and college systems help students to settle into college life and to successfully move into employment or further study
- Students continue to be successful after they have left college, showing high quality emotional, social and academic development
- High calibre safeguarding practice means that students develop personal strategies for staying safe and receive outstanding support when this is needed
- Leaders and managers show exceptional levels of competency
Ofsted Good with Outstanding Features
Reaseheath continues to be good (Grade 2) with some exceptional features and continues to be outstanding in many areas – in particular the very high number of Further Education students achieving success and progressing into employment or further study.
Key findings include:
- Reaseheath provides high quality and relevant educating and training for its students and apprentices
- Over 96% of students move into jobs or onto degree programmes in their chosen industry, which Ofsted identified as ‘a major strength of the college’
- Reaseheath responds to employers’ needs and ensures its courses are relevant to the world of work
- Staff are highly competent and experienced industry specialists who are trained and developed as teachers
- Good quality, external work experience provides a rich mix of learning opportunities and clear career direction to students
- Additional industry recognised qualifications offered to students and the many activities outside the curriculum, results in ‘well rounded individuals’ and enhanced students’ future job prospects
- The college’s ‘strong governance and highly effective leadership and management’ is commended for always putting the needs of student’s first

- 86.3% of 16-18 year olds achieved their Core Qualifications (National Average 79%)
- 96% of learners progressed into further/higher education, training or employment
- Students score their overall experience as 8.2 out of 10
- 93% of learners would recommend the College to a friend
- Our English and Maths Achievement for students ages 16-18 is above national averages (83%)
