The modern 2,500 square foot food centre incorporates commercial processing equipment and is segregated into 3 distinct areas: meat, bakery, dairy as well as onsite laboratories for scientific testing, and new product development facilities covering all aspects of food manufacture.

Students aged under 19 will not be charged tuition fees. If you are aged over 19 visit the 19+ Further Education Tuition Fees page.

There will be several visits for food students throughout the course, some of which may charge an entrance fee.

A study tour is planned in for the Food Technology Level 3 Year 2 students, cost to be decided once students pick their destination in conjunction with the course managers.

Students on a food technology course will need to purchase their own safety shoes (these can be purchased through the College for approximately £20). All other PPE is provided by the College.

Laundry costs for PPE 19/20:

Food Tech Y1: 2 x payments of £25

Food Tech Y2: 1 x payment of £30

All students will also be required to purchase stationery and reference textbooks.

All students must undertake 100 hours of work experience as part of the course. This takes place over a three week period usually around Easter.

Food students are required to attend College outside of normal College hours for our annual Family Festival in May.
