There is a significant skills gap and skills shortage in the professional landscaping sector. Career opportunities are vast and the market in the UK is growing. Understanding of the importance that our environment has on the quality of life and health issues is increasing and future environmental protection is needed.

This course is delivered by our expert tutors using our landscape workshop as well as project areas around the campus.

You will have the opportunity to participate in professional training workshops delivered by industry experts as part of our Marshalls Educational Partnership. You will also have the chance to enter UK World Skills Competitions and participate in show garden builds.

The programme includes 100 hours of work experience as well as additional qualifications to ensure that you are ready to progress to the next stage of your employment or education.

If you’re looking for a change of career and are aged over 19, you may be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan to help fund your course.

  • Using turf in landscaping
  • Water management, drainage and groundworks in landscape construction
  • Landscape construction machinery
  • Landscape construction materials
  • Show build preparation and project management
  • Functional Skills or GCSE in English and Maths depending on previous qualifications

How long will it take?

  • 1 year, full-time

What qualifications do I need to start?

  • At least 4 GCSEs at grade 4/C, or
  • Equivalent Level 2 qualification
  • Aptitude for practical, hands-on working

How much will this course cost?

If you are under 19 on 31st August 2019 the tuition fees and exam costs are free for our courses. If you are aged 19 or over you may have to pay a fee.

You may also be required to pay costs associated with study tours or additional qualifications.
