BeReady: Your passport to a great career

Once you complete these 12 steps, you will be awarded your BeReady Passport and will have successfully achieved your qualification and completed your Reaseheath Experience. You will then be ready to progress straight into employment or on to further study in your chosen field.

Getting started on your Reaseheath Experience

Before you join Reaseheath we want to make sure you can find out about all the opportunities we offer and help you choose the right course for you.

You’ll find lots of information about our range courses, as well as the careers you could progress onto, in this prospectus and on our website.

You can also get a flavour of life on campus by coming along to one of our Course Open Events or Taster Days. These events are the perfect opportunity for you to come and see the campus and gain impartial information, advice and guidance from our staff.

Once you’ve decided we’re the right college for you, it’s time to apply and enrol.

Welcome to Reaseheath

Once you’ve enrolled, it’ll soon be time to start your first term. Our Freshers Crew will be on-hand to help you get to know the college, meet new friends and settle in on campus.

You’ll meet your tutors and other staff during your full, fun-packed induction programme, as well as visit the Freshers Fair, explore our facilities and learn everything you need to know about staying safe at college.

Your study programme

Whatever subject area or level of course you choose, your study programme will give you the edge when it comes to progressing successfully into your choice of career.

Your study programme is designed to offer a challenging and exciting learning journey that not only gives you the knowledge needed to succeed in your chosen area of study but also wider technical, academic, personal and employability skills.

Your study programme is made up of all of the following areas:

Core qualification

Your core qualification is a substantial qualification at Level 1, 2 or 3 relevant to your chosen area of study and entry grades. These qualifications contain a mix of theoretical and practical learning. (Please see our course pages for more information)

Maths and English

Employers frequently stress the importance of achieving a good level of understanding in maths and English.

Maths and English are skills that are used on a daily basis. Reaseheath is committed to aiding your development in both subjects. Our ultimate aim is to maximise your success and achievement within the workplace.

BeReady tutorial programme

BeReady is Reaseheath’s unique cross college tutorial and pastoral care programme that consists of weekly delivered sessions, guest lectures, activities, events and promotions focusing on a range of personal, social and cultural topics. It has been designed by staff and students to develop your skills and prepare you for a successful career and life in today’s society.

BeReady topics include staying safe, mental health awareness and wellbeing, employability skills, healthy lifestyles, British values, politics and volunteering.

BeEmployable: Skills for employment

Our BeEmployable programme is in place to support you with your career choices. Reaseheath will support you with CV creation, job applications and job interview preparation. Working alongside careers advisors and course teams, we’ll help prepare you for the world of work by developing the right skills for employment:

BeEmployable: Work placement preparation

As part of your study programme you will be supported in finding an industry relevant work placement (up to 100 hours) by our dedicated BeEmployable team.

Your placement provides the opportunity to gain valuable employability skills and experience in the workplace – all great for your CV!

Typically you’ll spend 2-3 weeks working in an industry relevant to your course and interest. Whilst on placement you’ll be overseen by a placement supervisor who will provide guidance in the workplace. College staff will also maintain contact with you during your placement.

BeEmployable: Careers advice and job shop

Our qualified careers advisors will be on hand during your time at college to provide impartial careers information, advice and guidance on your next steps.

You will also benefit from CV workshops, UCAS application guidance , job application and interview workshops to assist in preparing you for success in your chosen career path.

BeInvolved

When you join Reaseheath College you’ll become part of the Reaseheath student body giving you access to the many varied and exciting social and recreational opportunities throughout the year.

From sports to study tours, charity fundraising to volunteering opportunities,
there’s something for everyone!

Student and College life

All students will have a personal tutor who will provide 1:1 guidance and support throughout the year. The role of your tutor is to maximise your level of achievement and to help ensure positive progression to further study or employment.

At Reaseheath you will have access to a wealth of student support including health and wellbeing, careers, finance, transport and safeguarding.

Preparation for progression

On completing your BeReady Passport and Reaseheath Experience, you will be ready for your next steps. Will you be starting employment, progressing onto degree level study at University Centre Reaseheath or elsewhere, or will you be starting an apprenticeship?

At the end of the academic year, you will be invited to attend our Presentation of Awards ceremony to celebrate your achievements and hard work with your friends and family.

Whatever your next steps, you will be invited to stay with thee Reaseheath family by becoming a member of our Alumni Association.
