Are you thinking about studying Agricultural Engineering at Reaseheath College? To help with your decision, student Freddie shares why he chose to study our Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Agricultural Engineering and what he loves about the course.

I knew about Reaseheath College for a while before starting here and I had always heard good things about it. Some of the staff from the college visited my high school as part of a careers day and told us about the courses they offered and what it would be like to study here, which I found really helpful and made me seriously consider it as the place for me to study after my GCSEs.

Although there were a few different courses I was interested in at Reaseheath College, I decided to study Agricultural Engineering as it suited my interests the most. I liked the sound of what I would be doing on the course and the opportunities that would come from it afterwards.

Having a qualification in Agricultural Engineering puts you in a good position as there are lots of jobs in the industry which pay well if you are willing to work hard. The facilities here are great and I am gaining a lot of confidence in my work thanks to the help of my tutor who takes the time to explain things clearly to me.

I particularly enjoy the practical sessions we have in the workshops here two days a week. Although I have worked with tractors from quite a young age, it is great to develop my skills and to be taught the correct way of working with large pieces of machinery. We are also taught a lot about health and safety on the course which is great, and I have been supported to gain extra qualifications which will make me more employable when I apply for jobs in the industry.

A lot of the tutors at Reaseheath College have worked in the agricultural engineering industry before teaching here, so they are great people to ask about career advice too which is really helpful. I would highly recommend studying Agricultural Engineering at Reaseheath College!
