If your child is wild about animals, Reaseheath Zoo School is the ultimate May half-term adventure.
Running from May 27th to 29th, this fun and educational holiday club is perfect for children aged eight to 14 who love animals, nature, and getting stuck in. Each day runs from 10am to 2.30pm and offers hands-on experiences that bring young people face-to-face with creatures great and small.
From feeding and cleaning to health checks and even helping to revamp enclosures, no two days are the same. Children will meet mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, fish and invertebrates, and take part in activities tailored to the needs of the animals and the curiosity of the group.
To make things extra special, Zoo School also includes seasonal-themed activities with some of the zoo’s friendliest residents — adding a unique and memorable twist to the day.
Kerri Robson, Reaseheath Mini Zoo Manager, said: “Zoo School is a brilliant way for young people to experience the real work of a zookeeper and build their confidence around animals. We’ve designed each day to be fun, hands-on and educational – with plenty of opportunities to get stuck in and ask questions. It’s always a joy to see how excited and inspired the children are by the end of the day!”
Reaseheath Zoo is a BIAZA-accredited zoo (British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums), which means it meets the highest standards in animal care, education and conservation. Your children will be learning from the best in a safe, supportive environment.
Children should bring a packed lunch and wear clothes suitable for outdoor, hands-on activities. Whether rain or shine, they’ll leave with new skills, knowledge, and fantastic memories.
