Reaseheath College is now offering the Government backed Technical Baccalaureate, an exciting and challenging alternative to A-Levels.
If you are a high achiever who is aspiring to pursue a successful career in the following industries the Technical Baccalaureate is the new first class alternative to A level study.
The ‘TechBacc’ offers you a set of qualifications that will stand you in good stead to pursue a successful career in industry, take a higher apprenticeship, or progress onto further study, including technical courses at university.
- Entry criteria 5 GCSEs including GCSE 5/B in Maths, English and Science, GCSE 4/C in 2 other subjects
- 2 year full-time programme (approximately 5 days per week)
- Equivalent to 4.5 A-Levels and up to 216 UCAS points
- Access to industry standard facilities and expertise
- Support from your personal tutor and an industry mentor
- Minimum 100 hour placement each year
Level 3 Tech Level Qualification – Equivalent to 3 A Levels
- Level 3 Diploma in your chosen subject area
- Specialist units relevant to your chosen subject area
Level 3 Maths – Equivalent to an AS Level
- Develop industry relevant number skills including budget management and analysing data
- Maths that are not purely theoretical or abstract but can be applied on a day-to-day basis in work, study and life
Specialist Project – Equivalent to an AS Level
- Conduct a research project in your chosen area
- Develop your research and analytical skills
Industry Placement
- Minimum 100 hour work placement each year
- Support and guidance from your industry mentor
