Zoo School

Zoo School is our school holiday activity club, running from 10am to 2:30pm, suitable for children aged 8-14 years old. Every day is packed full of fun hands-on activities across the zoo!

On the day

You will be greeted by our friendly Zoo education team at 10am. Once we arrive at the zoo, after an introduction you will be put in your groups for the activities, then there is a morning activity (10.15am-12pm approx.) then lunch, then an afternoon activity (1pm-2.15pm) before being picked up at the end of the day.

Activities change each day of Zoo school and different groups work with different animals. They could include feeding, cleaning, health checking, making enrichment, revamping enclosures, training and sometimes include seasonal themed activities with some of our friendlier animals in the zoo. Animals could include zoo mammals, large or small domestic animals, birds, invertebrates, amphibians, reptiles or fish, it depends on the theme of the day.

What to bring and wear

  • Please bring your own food and drink for the day. We do have water fountains to refill bottles.
  • Clothes suitable for the weather on the day, if the activity is outside we will be out there whatever the weather. Clothes and footwear should be suitable for getting a bit mucky as some of the activities do involve working in some of the enclosures.

  • Add a Zoo School t-shirt to wear on the day for only £8 – select the option at checkout
