GCSE and Extended Project Qualifications
For those students studying GCSE and EPQ, tutors will be providing the awarding body with estimated grades. Lecturers will use a wide range of evidence, including classwork and homework, together with the results of mock exams and assignments. The grades for these will be released as originally planned on Thursday 20th August 2020.

Vocational Qualifications
Students studying a technical and vocational qualification, including BTEC, and who are due to complete their qualification in the summer of 2020, will receive a grade. These will be based on work already assessed and other in class work, homework, assignments etc.
Where there is the requirement of a practical element or licence to practice to be completed, we are looking at the first opportunity we will be able to safely have students on campus to assess their work.

Functional Skills
Those students due to complete their Functional Skills by the summer will be awarded a calculated grade on classroom work, homework and tests rather than postpone exams.
Apprenticeships
Apprentices taking other vocational and technical qualifications as part of their apprenticeships should have calculated grades. For those qualifications that have end-point assessments (EPAs) these will need to be scheduled as soon as is deemed safe to do so.
Why can’t the college share information on students’ predicted grades?
Unfortunately, we are unable to share this information due to the Ofqual stipulation that ‘exam boards are to treat any disclosure by any member of a centre’s staff of centre assessment grades, rank order information, or the professional judgements which underpin them, to anyone not authorised by the Head of Centre, as mal practice or maladministration…’
