The interview
Here are some handy tips for the interview;
- Relax – the interview is informal and gives you the opportunity to get to know the college and your chosen course area and for your interviewer to get to know you. If you want your parents/guardian present, please put your phone on speaker and let the interviewer know who is joining you on the call
- Be honest – Answer the questions honestly, we are no trying to catch you out with any question we ask. We want you to succeed and achieve your full potential whilst you are with us at Reaseheath. If you do need any support, now is the perfect time to let us know so we can get this in place for you at the start of the course
- Enjoy it – you’re at an exciting step towards your future career in an industry that you are passionate about. Ask any question that you might have been thinking about. Your interviewer is there to answer your questions, not just ask you them!
At the end of the interview, your interviewer will hopefully make you an offer of a course, this could be:-
An unconditional offer – these offers are only made if you already have all the entry requirements for the course. E.g. you have achieved the required GCSE grades.
A conditional offer – this will be based on you achieving the required grades and could also have additional conditions attached such as:-
- Obtaining work experience or placement
- A suitable reference
- Attending an assessment day
On GCSE results day if your actual grades differ from those predicted please let us know so we can alter your offer. This could include moving up or down a level. Please don’t worry about this, wherever possible we will ensure there is a level of course for everyone.
After the interview
You will receive an email with the details of your offer. Please allow 2-3 weeks for this. The email will ask you to let us know if you are accepting the offer.
What happens next?
Once you have accepted the offer, you will be sent a further email giving you access to the next step of the applicant hub.
Please keep in touch with us and if you change any of your personal details such as your address, phone number, email us on enquiries@reaseheath.ac.uk so we can ensure you receive the latest updates from us.
