City and Guilds Level 3 Award in Education and Training

Integrating our vocational expertise to develop an Award in Education and Training (AET) this course is aimed at those aspiring to work in Further Education.

This qualification provides an introduction to post-16 teacher training and will introduce you to the knowledge and skills involved in session planning, delivery and assessment in a specialist context.

Units to be studied:

  • 301: Roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
  • 302: Understanding and using inclusive learning and teaching approaches in education and training
  • 306: Understanding the principles and practice of assessment in education and training

Entry requirements:

There are no formal entry requirements however candidates must be able to show evidence of Level 3 vocational skills as well as Level 2 Maths and English skills.

The Award in Education and Training can be accessed in two ways:

Pathway 1, evening – face-to-face

All units delivered on a Wednesday evening over 14 weeks. Lessons to be held 6 – 8.30pm in PLC Conservatory (B9).

  • End date – mid January 2022 (exact date TBC)

Pathway 2, online learning

If you wish to access the online learning option, then your programme would take a blended learning path consisting of a combination of independent study, attending live online workshops/seminars and also completing two assessments in person.

  • End date – mid January 2022 (exact date TBC)
