FAQs
What is our Engineering Department like?
Our Academy of Engineering covers agricultural, motor vehicle and large transport vehicle engineering – which includes bus and coach, construction plant and rail – and features multiple training facilities across our campus.
We’ve invested significantly in the Engineering facility including a £7 million Advanced Engineering and Agri-Tech Centre that boasts state-of-the-art teaching facilities and equipment. Our new Reaseheath Engineering Apprenticeship Academy (REAA) was purpose built to accommodate the growing demand within large transport vehicle engineering, and we also have an impressive five bay, high-spec equipment facility for our motor vehicle cohort.
What is our Construction Department like?
Our Construction department offers a range of courses covering Plastering, Bricklaying and Joinery, with practical teaching to ensure students are industry focused and career ready. We’re also involved in the Advanced Construction Training (ACT) project, which aims to develop digital skills in construction across Cheshire.
Our state-of-the-art construction facilities include spacious workshops stocked with the latest equipment and our £1.9 million Innovation Hub also includes an IT suite featuring highly technical pieces of kit, such as VR headsets, auto-CAD and digital surveying equipment.
Do I need a teaching qualification / experience? What qualifications do I need?
No. Your industry experience is what matters. We’ll support you to gain teaching qualifications once you start.
Will I earn while training?
Yes. Teaching qualifications are typically completed alongside paid employment.
Is it all paperwork?
No. These are practical, workshop-based roles focused on real skills.
What support will I get in my transition?
Mentoring, CPD, funded qualifications and a supportive team environment.
