Cancellation of Presentation of Awards Ceremonies and FE Delivery on Thursday, June 25th
Due to the extreme heatwave conditions forecast across the region, Reaseheath College and University Centre has reluctantly taken the decision to cancel tomorrow’s Presentation of Awards Ceremonies and all Further Education (FE) delivery on Thursday 25th June.
The college is asking guests and FE students not to travel to the college campus tomorrow. All college buses have also been cancelled for the day.
Marcus Clinton, Principal and CEO, said: “This has been an incredibly difficult decision, and we are deeply sorry for the disappointment and late notice this will cause for families who were looking forward to celebrating this milestone.
“However, the safety and wellbeing of our college community is our absolute priority. Given tomorrow afternoon’s extreme temperature forecasts and the nature of the indoor venue, cancellation is the most responsible course of action. Whilst we are successfully managing today’s conditions, the projected increase for Thursday means standing down tomorrow’s ceremonies is necessary to ensure everyone’s safety.
“We remain fully committed to recognising the fantastic achievements of our students and are already exploring options for how we can best celebrate them in the near future.”
