Functional Skills Maths for Adults

Location: Reaseheath College (face-to-face)

Duration: 1 academic year with flexible completion

Schedule: Tuesdays. Option of 5:30-7:00pm or 7:15pm-8:45pm until Easter. After Easter, the classes will become 3 hour sessions from 5:30pm-8:30pm.

Course Dates:

Tuesday 22nd September 2026 until Tuesday 13th July 2027

This course offers a supportive and flexible route to achieving a Functional Skills Maths qualification. Learners attend weekly classes and can take their exams at various points throughout the year. Many learners may achieve their qualification before the end of the academic year and can complete the course early, while those requiring additional support can continue to access teaching and further assessment opportunities.

Assessment and Exams

Functional Skills Maths is assessed through a single exam, available at Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2, depending on your starting point.

  • The exam includes both calculator and non-calculator sections
  • It focuses on practical application of Maths
  • There will be multiple opportunities to take the assessments

You’ll be supported with mock assessments and revision tailored to your needs. We offer Edexcel Functional Skills Mathematics qualifications.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal qualifications required. We’ll send an initial assessment so we can place you on the right level (Entry Level, Level 1, or Level 2) based on your current skills.
