Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing

This is an essential qualification for those looking to join the fitness industry. The qualification provides learners with the skills and experience to enter the fitness industry, allowing access to the Register of Exercise Professionals whilst also paving the way for progression to group instructor qualifications and Level 3 Personal Trainer qualifications.

Modules include: Principles of Anatomy and Physiology, Health, Safety and Welfare in a Fitness Environment, Supporting Clients to Take Part in Physical Activity, Principles of Exercise, Fitness and Health, Planning Gym Based Exercise and Instructing Gym Based Exercise.

This two-day course, which costs £600 (£150 deposit non refundable, final payment of £450 to be made on registration) will run on Monday and Thursday, 6-9pm on the following dates:

  • 20th September – 15th December 2021
  • 28th February – 29th June 2022

There are no formal entry requirements for this course however it does require physical exertion and individual participation is essential. Because of this, a degree of physical fitness is necessary.

Active IQ Level 2 Award in Instructing Suspended Movement Training

You will learn about the legal and professional requirements needed to be a suspended movement instructor as well as the key concepts of suspended movement training and how technology can be used in suspended movement sessions.

You will also be provided with the knowledge and skills to be able to plan, prepare and deliver safe and effective suspended movement training sessions, too.

The course will consist of one unit of both practical and theory content. You will need to complete a range of assessments including a worksheet, session plan, practical observation and self-evaluation.

This two-day course, which costs £125, will take place in our on-site Sports Hall and will be running on the following dates:

  • 16th – 17th October 2021
  • 5th – 6th February 2022
  • 30th April – 1st May 2022
  • 9th – 10th July 2022

You will learn about the legal and professional requirements of a group kettlebell instructor on this two-day course, as well as the key concepts of kettlebell training and how technology can be used in kettlebells sessions. You will also be provided with the knowledge and skills to be able to plan, prepare and deliver safe and effective group kettlebell training sessions.

This course will consist of one unit of both practical and theory content. You will need to complete a range of assessments including a worksheet, session plan, practical observation and self-evaluation.

This two-day course, which costs £125, will take place in our on-site Sports Hall and will be running on the following dates:

  • 23rd – 24th October 2021
  • 29th – 30th January 2022
  • 9th – 10th July 2022

On this two-day course, you will gain an understanding of the legal and professional requirements of a circuits instructor. You will also learn about the key concepts of circuit training and how technology can be used in circuit sessions. You will also be provided with the knowledge and skills to be able to plan, prepare and deliver safe and effective group circuit sessions.

This course will consist of one unit of both practical and theory content. You will need to complete a range of assessments including a worksheet, session plan, practical observation and self-evaluation.

This two-day course, which costs £150, will take place in our on-site Sports Hall and will be running on the following dates:

  • 27th – 28th November 2021
  • 23rd – 24th April 2022
