Reaseheath College and University Centre has recognised its Student of the Term recipients for Spring 2026, shining a spotlight on the exceptional learners who have gone above and beyond in their studies, practical work, and community involvement.
From the technical workshops of engineering and construction to the research labs of the university centre, this term’s recipients have been recognised not just for their academic grades, but for embodying the college’s PRIDE values – People, Responsibility, Integrity, Diversity and Excellence

Here are the inspiring stories of our latest award winners:
- Jack Heath (Level 2 Agriculture): Jack has shown a significant increase in commitment this term, becoming a positive influence on his peers. He is recognized for his practical prowess, technical knowledge, and willingness to assist others in practical situations, even providing relief labour at the college farm on his days off.
- Alfie Edwards (T Level Agriculture, Land Management and Production): With 100% attendance, Alfie has demonstrated exceptional reliability and a positive attitude. He excels in both practical and theoretical work, applying his knowledge to real-world scenarios and acting as an excellent role model for his cohort.
- Shane Thompson (L3 Agricultural Engineering Apprentice): Shane consistently performs ahead of his targets, producing detailed and thoughtful work. He is a valued team member who generously shares his technical expertise to help his peers understand complex course requirements.
- Tyler Maddock (Joinery Level 1): Tyler has shown immense resilience in overcoming initial practical challenges. His confidence has grown significantly, and he is noted for his impeccable manners, excellent attendance, and conscientious attitude in the workshop. (Image 1)
- Harry Hutchinson (KS4 Construction Multi-skills): Harry is a strong role model who approaches every task with enthusiasm. He produces high-quality work that showcases both creativity and skill, while his polite and collaborative nature contributes to a positive classroom environment.
- Kace Ryan (T Level Animal Management with Science): Kace has shown remarkable growth in confidence, particularly in public speaking and classroom participation. He has tackled challenging scientific content with determination and consistently models professional Career Ready behaviours.
- Emily Hazeldine (Level 1 Land-based studies – Equine): Emily is a dedicated residential student with 100% attendance and distinction-level work. She demonstrates impressive maturity, industry-standard practical skills, and a proactive approach to developing her knowledge.
- Amelia Coxon (Level 3 Technical Baccalaureate in Equine Management): Amelia excels in every area of her course, often researching subjects in her own time. She embodies college values through her team-oriented approach, meticulous care for horses, and academic performance well above her target grades.
- Phoebe Holbrook (HE Animal Management): As the Students’ Union Sustainability Officer, Phoebe has shown incredible initiative in leading campus campaigns. She balances her final year dissertation with extensive volunteer work, enriching the student experience for everyone. (Image 2)
- Cassandra Tyson (BSc Applied Zoology): Cassandra is a “delight to teach,” maintaining perfect attendance and producing First-class research for her dissertation. She is a kind and supportive peer who represents her program with an upbeat and professional attitude. (Image 3)
- Harry Fisher (T Level Food Science): Harry is a highly motivated learner who consistently goes the extra mile. As a course representative, he communicates professionally and shows a genuine intellectual curiosity that extends beyond the curriculum. (Image 4)
- Esme Wilson (T Level Management and Administration): Esme’s journey from a quiet Level 2 student to a resilient T Level leader is truly inspiring. She has taken on significant leadership roles in Young Enterprise projects and mentors her peers with a supportive and professional attitude. (Image 5)
- Hayden Lee Rushton (Level 2 Horticulture): Hayden is one of the hardest-working students in his class, showing significant personal growth and confidence. He achieves top scores in theory exams and has already secured an external work placement through his own initiative. (Image 6)
- Ewan Mitchell (Level 3 Horticulture): Ewan’s passion for his subject is evident in his distinction-level work. He is a curious and dedicated student whose enthusiasm for horticulture serves as an inspiration to those around him.
- Katarina Holand (Level 3 Food Science and Technology): Katarina has shown incredible academic growth and resilience. She has transformed into a confident student who provides deep, insightful contributions to class discussions.
- Miley Davies (Level 1 Functional Skills English): Miley is a dedicated residential student who has made exceptional strides in her writing and communication skills. Her resilience and commitment to acting on feedback have made her a positive role model for her peers.
- Sophie Smith (L3 Sport and Exercise Science): Despite joining the course late, Sophie has shown exceptional determination to catch up and excel. Her written work is of a consistently high standard, reflecting her passion and professional approach to the subject. (Image 7)

She approaches her studies with genuine enthusiasm, submits high-quality work, and treats both her peers and the natural environment with immense respect.
