The 2020 Reaseheath Junior Cake-Off!

Are you sieving the dream in the kitchen? Can you rise to an occasion? Are your skills with sugar paste sweet? Whatever tickles your fondant fancy, it’s all or muffin in this year’s competition!

Design Brief:

We are challenging you to bake and decorate a cake with a ‘Japan 2020 Olympics’ theme. The choice of recipe and style is completely up to you! Don’t be afraid to take some whisks – the cakes are high!

Prizes:

  • 1st prize – £100 for the student and a bakery equipment bundle for the winning school
  • 2nd prize – £50 for the student
  • 2 x runners up – £25 for each student

How and when:

Schools need to register their entries by Friday 3rd April using the entry form below.

Stage 1 – Product Development…

At your school, year 9 or 10 students will individually develop a ‘Japan 2020 Olympics’ themed cake. The school will submit a photograph and product specification as well as an action plan of each student’s entry to Reaseheath Food Centre by Friday 3rd April.

Stage 2 – Shortlisting of Finalists…

Reaseheath Food Centre will review all entries with finalists notified of their success by Friday 17th April.

Stage 3 – The Final…

The final will take place during our Reaseheath Family Festival on Sunday 3rd May. All finalists will bring in their cake ready to decorate. Entries will be judged with prizes presented on the day. Finalist’s families are also invited to our Family Festival with tickets sent out prior to the event.
