BSc in Landscape Architecture undergraduate Jake Jackson has been awarded a Student Scholarship by the David Colegrave Foundation.

Jake, from Holmes Chapel, progressed onto his degree after completing his Level 3 Extended Diploma in Horticulture with us. Alongside his studies he’s expanding his practical experience by working part-time as a technician in our industry standard glasshouses.

Particularly interested in production horticulture, Jake will use his £1,000 bursary to buy new technical equipment and plans to increase his knowledge by experimenting with new crops and seeds.

He said:  “I was thrilled to hear I had been awarded a scholarship. I study, work and also enjoy horticulture in my spare time and the scholarship will help me further my interests in all three aspects. I am very grateful to the David Colegrave Foundation.”

Jeff Colegrave, a Trustee for the charity, commented: “As is the case every year, we received applications for scholarships from college students from across the country. It is really encouraging to see the variety of horticultural interest that our successful candidates have, and I wish them all the best for their future endeavours.”

The David Colegrave Foundation (DCF) is a registered charity which supports the development of students studying horticulture in the UK and champions careers in commercial and production ornamental horticulture. The next Scholarship Season runs from Sep 2018 to Jan 2019.
