In celebration of equality, diversity and our PRIDE values, we held our first ever Pride Festival at Reaseheath on Monday.

The event was a great chance to promote the LGBTQPA+ society, whilst raising money for Diabetes UK, our current RAG (raising and giving) charity.

Money was raised by selling tickets for the raffle, various games including a hoopla competition, and face painting.

Many staff and students attended the event held on the main lawn, where they could use the photo booth, bouncy castle, get involved with horticulture tasks and enjoy the food and snacks – even the rainbow themed ice cream, whilst listening to music from the DJ.

Cheshire Police and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service attended with their rainbow vehicles to show their support for the event and engage with the students.

The Student Association’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer, Tim Walsh, said: “This is the first Pride event we have had at Reaseheath and it’s been really successful. Thank you to all of the staff and students who have helped to make this day possible.”

RAG Vice President, Chelsey Rowntree, added: “This has been a great day and we’ve raised a lot of money for Diabetes UK. All of the events have ran smoothly so overall it’s been a great success.”
