Reaseheath College and University Centre is set to celebrate T Levels Week (13th – 17th October), recognising student achievements and highlighting the growing impact of T Level qualifications across multiple industries.
This comes after a record-breaking year for the Nantwich-based college’s further education students, with the college reporting an eight per cent increase in high grades and overall pass rates rising to 96% – a five per cent increase on last year.
T Level students achieved particularly strong results, with pass rates well above the national average. Over 90% of Design, Surveying and Planning T Level students achieved high grades, while Management and Administration maintained a 100% pass rate for the second year running. First-year students in Animal Management and Science, and Animal Management and Behaviour, also excelled, achieving pass rates of 100% and 98% respectively.
Since introducing T Levels in 2021, Reaseheath has expanded its offer to include Management and Administration; Design, Surveying and Planning; Food Sciences; Land-based Engineering; Tree and Woodland Management; Agriculture; Animal Management and Behaviour; and Animal Management and Science.
This September, the college launched a new T Level in Marketing. The first cohort recently joined Business and Transition T Level students for a real-world learning experience at Chester Zoo, including a guest talk from Helen Tonks MBE, founder of Hydraulics Online Ltd.
Looking ahead, Reaseheath will introduce a T Level in Ornamental Horticulture and Landscaping in 2026, aimed at students interested in sustainable land use and environmental management. To support recruitment and student success, the college is offering incentives for those starting in September 2025, including a bursary of up to £450 per year, a laptop loan scheme, free course equipment, guaranteed progression to University Centre Reaseheath, exclusive industry masterclasses, access to an industry mentor, dedicated careers support, guaranteed apprenticeship interviews, and student awards.
Paul Spearritt, Vice Principal – Curriculum and Quality, said: “T Levels at Reaseheath are giving our students a real edge. These qualifications are designed with employers in mind, and we’re proud to deliver them in a way that ensures our learners are industry-focused and career-ready. From day one, students are immersed in practical, real-world experiences that prepare them for the demands of the workplace and give them the confidence to succeed.”
The national spotlight on T Levels continues to grow, with Minister for Skills Jacqui Smith stating: “T Levels are at the forefront of this Government’s technical education offer. They are excellent qualifications based on employer-led standards and they break down barriers to opportunity, giving young people hands-on experience through industry placements. T Levels are also helping to build talented workforces – around a third of T Level students who progress into employment get jobs with their T Level Industry Placement employer.
“I’m delighted to champion T Levels Week as we ensure these qualifications continue to thrive through our Plan for Change. T Levels are growing year on year, with £28 million of additional investment this year for specialist equipment. I would encourage young people to consider taking a T Level – including the brand-new Marketing T Level – as a fantastic route into a rewarding career.”
Throughout T Levels Week, Reaseheath College and University Centre is sharing student profiles, videos, and behind-the-scenes content on social media using #TLevelsWeek.
