Reaseheath College and University Centre has reported exceptional results from the November 2025 GCSE resit series as students secured 144 passing grades in record time.
The results include 71 passes in English and 73 in Mathematics. This marks a major milestone for the group who successfully cleared the hurdle of their resits just six weeks into the college year.
The scale of the achievement reflects the intensive support from specialist staff. The 144 passes are roughly equal to an entire Year 11 cohort at a mainstream secondary school. Achieving these grades in such a short window allows students to now focus fully on their professional training.
James Eagney, Assistant Principal – FE Curriculum and Performance, said: “These results are the perfect springboard for the year ahead. Our students have shown that with a fresh start and a focused environment, they can achieve in six weeks what previously felt like a long-term barrier.
“I would like to thank our dedicated teaching staff. They worked hard to guide a cohort of this size to such a significant result in such a short period. It is a fantastic boost that allows our students to move forward and focus fully on their chosen courses.”
While the college celebrates every pass, several students achieved particularly high marks. Special recognition goes to those who passed both English and Maths: Joshua Royle, Hope Bingham, Brendon Healey, Kobie Birchall, Anaya Buckley, and Jack Marvell.
Other students demonstrated exceptional progress by securing outcomes above Grade 4. Harvey Stroud and Jade Neveling gained a Grade 6 in English, while Zachariah Johnson achieved a Grade 5 in Maths.
Further Grade 5 passes in English were achieved by Max Habberley, Hope Brownrigg, Alfie Croll, Tayo Bilton, Jessica Conway, Jake Finch, India Bickerstaffe, Dominic Bollington, Noah Burgess, Axius Bishop, Archie McGow, and Phoenix Johnson.
Jadé Neveling, who is studying a Level 2 Diploma in Vehicle Inspection (VRQ), said: “The encouragement provided by my family and lecturers served as the vital foundation. Their belief in my potential allowed me to focus entirely on my academic objectives with confidence.”
Ollie Stockton, who is studying a Level 2 Diploma in Joinery, added: “My motivation to achieve my Grade 5 in English came from my supportive teacher, Mellisa Rispin, and my family. They were always positive and believed in me, which gave me the confidence and drive to achieve my goal.”
Ryan Green, Curriculum Area Manager for Maths and English, added: “We challenge our students to ‘Be More’ from day one. This cohort has certainly delivered. Seeing so many students progress in just six weeks is incredible. By securing these outcomes, they have proven they have the resilience to be more than just students. They are becoming professionals who are truly career ready.”
