Doctors, Hospital and Self Care
Hospital
Our local hospital is Leighton Hospital.
In an emergency, an ambulance will be called, however depending on the wait times and the emergency we may transport learners in the College vehicle.
For under 18 year old learners we will transport you to hospital and wait with you until a parent or guardian arrives. It is our duty of care to report under 18’s hospital visits to parents/guardians.
Over 18 year old learners will be transported and dropped off if you are unable to find your own way there. You will be able to phone the duty mobile to be collected when you are finished. In certain circumstances we will also phone a parent/guardian.
Doctors
We advise that students remain registered with their GP practice at their home address. This can often be the simplest option, particularly if you’re likely to return home during half-term breaks. Whilst you’re at Reaseheath you will also have access to nearby pharmacies, and – for more urgent care – Leighton Hospital (A&E and Out of Hours GP). For students under 18, we can help arrange transport to these services.
However, if you’d prefer to register with a GP locally, you can request registration at Kiltearn Medical Centre. Please speak to a member of staff if you need help with understanding your options
Alternatively you can visit our dedicated Wellbeing Team on site.
