Academy of Engineering, Technology and Construction
Our Academy of Engineering, Technology and Construction puts the spotlight on the skilled – and highly desirable – professions within these three sectors. If you choose to study within this academy, you’ll be sure of gaining the skills, qualifications and experience which these industries demand.
We are one of the UK’s leading academies for agricultural engineering and have invested in an exceptional technical training facility – our £7 million Advanced Engineering and Agri-Tech Centre. If you choose to study agricultural engineering with us you’ll be hands-on in our industry standard workshops, gaining experience on a range of modern tractors and machinery and using electronic diagnostic equipment, hydraulic training rigs and an electronics lab.
If you’re a construction plant or engineering apprentice working with large transport vehicles you’re likely to spend much of your time in the purpose built, heavy engineering workshops and dedicated classrooms at Reaseheath’s Engineering Apprenticeship Academy, a new facility to accommodate the growth in demand for training from industry partners such as transport companies First Bus and Alstom.
If you’re more driven towards maintaining light vehicles you’ll learn your skills in our motor vehicle workshop which has an impressive five bays and hi spec equipment. You’ll work on a wide range of modern road cars and enjoy helping to build customised vehicles. Our experienced lecturers and technicians will make sure that you gain the relevant qualifications and practical skills which employers want.
If you’d prefer to gain a recognised trade such as brickwork, joinery or plastering, or develop the progressive technical and digital skills required for the built environment, our construction department has received recent investment and has great teaching facilities along with a wealth of advanced equipment.
