Reaseheath College and University Centre has proudly celebrated the achievements of more than a thousand Further Education students during three days of awards ceremonies.
The events, held from June 24th to 26th, recognised academic excellence, personal growth, and outstanding contributions to college life of 1,233 students , with family, friends, staff, and industry partners coming , ,together to mark the occasion.
Each ceremony was made even more special by inspiring keynote speeches from former students who have gone on to forge successful careers in their chosen industries:
- Steph Nish, who studied Dairy Technology through Arla’s Eden apprenticeship programme, now works as a Health and Safety Advisor at Flotation Energy, supporting the development of offshore windfarms.
- Emma Pemberton, a graduate of the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport and Outdoor Activities, is now a Trainee Bridge Inspector with Up and Under, working on major infrastructure projects across the UK.
- Peter Watson, who studied Animal Management, is now an Animal Technical Support Officer at Chester Zoo, playing a key role in strategic zoo operations and species conservation.
The ceremonies were opened by Vice Chair of Governors Mike Gorton on Tuesday, and by Chair of Governors Jane Cowell OBE on Wednesday and Thursday, who both spoke about the importance of student achievement and the impact of technical and vocational education on future careers.
Reaseheath Principal and CEO Marcus Clinton praised the students for their hard work and determination:
“These awards are a testament to the dedication, resilience and talent of our students. It’s incredibly rewarding to see them thrive and to celebrate their success alongside our staff, families and industry partners. We’re proud to help shape the next generation of skilled professionals across land-based and technical industries.”
The celebrations also recognised the success of hundreds of students who completed their Career Ready Passport, plus an incredible 67 students whose written work was published in the Young Writers’ Competition anthology, titled Fight or Flight.
The awards were made possible with the generous support of our sponsors, including Buxtons, Groundwork, HJ Lea Oakes, JCB, Ornua, Lely, Rookery Hall Hotel and Spa, Stein, and Together, whose continued commitment helps us celebrate the progress and potential of our learners.
