Introduction to Land-Based Studies Pathway
Programmes available:
Gain practical experience in animal care, equine and agriculture, and develop an understanding of safe working practices, animal welfare and environmental sustainability.
You will also be able to improve your core employability skills including communication, teamwork and time management, while building your confidence and independence through applied learning in real or simulated work settings.
You’ll also complete a work placement and may be able to study additional qualifications.
How long will it take?
- Each programme lasts one year
What qualifications do I need to start?
- You do not need exam passes to start but you do need to be at entry 3 in literacy and numeracy for our level 1 programmes and working at entry 2 for our Entry 3 Land-Based Studies
- You will have at least one interview and an assessment of your literacy and numeracy and support needs before you are offered a place
What qualifications will I gain?
- Entry 3 or Level 1 qualification in the area you have chosen
- Functional Skills or GCSE in English and Maths depending on previous qualifications
Course options after this programme
- Upon completion of Entry 3 you can progress to Level 1
- Progress onto a Level 2 qualification, or
- Level 2 Apprenticeship in your subject or a related area, or
- Join our Employability Pathway
