The experienced staff in our Learning Skills Centre (LSC) provide additional learning support for those students with a range of academic support needs.
Our experienced staff can offer you targeted individual support to enable you to access your chosen course. We will arrange your support by talking to you about it, talking to your parent/carer and by contacting your school to find out about any previous support you may have accessed.
The LSC supports and mentors students in a variety of ways including supporting with course work, developing your study skills and helping you to move towards being able to study independently.
We offer individual support in class or 1:1 sessions in the LSC, or group or shared support in class or in the LSC. A drop in service also runs every day in the LSC.
Extra support is available for students with specific learning difficulties, such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD and Asperger’s Syndrome. We can also provide help for those with visual or hearing impairments and other physical disabilities.
Assistive Technology (specialist study equipment) is also available on loan to students. Please speak to a member of staff about this.
If you have an Education, Health and Care plan (EHC), please contact us about it.
